AICCU’s private nonprofit colleges and universities serve over 320,000 students annually. While the state’s investment in students at AICCU schools equals about two percent of its higher education budget, private nonprofit colleges confer over 20% of the undergraduate degrees in the State and over 50% of all graduate degrees.
AICCU’s research supports its policy work and provides data to stakeholders and policymakers related to the private nonprofit higher education sector. Articulating the depth and breadth of the success, diversity, and effectiveness of the sector is essential to AICCU’s representation of its members and their mission to improve individuals and communities through higher education.
AICCU collects, analyzes, and disseminates research to improve public policy discussions related to higher education and sustaining California’s leadership role in the global economy.
